The
Working Pottery
& it's products
Presingoll Pottery (formerly Hudson Potteries) has been established in the area for over 30 years and whilst undergoing many changes during this time remains one of the few remaining working potteries in Cornwall. Our loyal production staff has seen most of these changes and whilst we no longer aspire to supplying retail outlets outside the county we remain committed to making our products available through our factory shop as well as at Presingoll Barns and certain Cornish Goodies shops.
Blue spongeware is a kitchen and dining range, which is manufactured using traditional slip casting and jigger jollying methods that have remained the same since the pottery was first established. The spongeware decoration is applied totally by hand, as is the dip glaze finish.
Hand-cut-out ware is a range of decorative pieces, including electric lamp bases, which are manufactured by the traditional slip casting method. Each design is cut out freehand by our pottery production manager, Chris Ball, without the benefit of any pre-inscribed assistance. It therefore follows that each piece is unique and represents excellent value.
Traditional high-fired stoneware is a kitchen and dining range that dates back to the mid seventies. It is a testament to it's original design that it has remained popular for so many years, however we have decided to cease production in future and we therefore strongly advise collectors to buy while you can before they arrive on Ebay at grossly inflated prices.
